Title:
Crumbling Reflections
INT. KITCHEN - MORNING
SARAH
(30s, anxious, perfectionist) sits at the kitchen table, hair neatly tied in a bun, sipping her coffee. She's wearing a suit, preparing for an important presentation at work.
JAMES
(30s, easygoing, supportive) enters the kitchen, wearing a casual outfit. He grabs a cereal box from the cupboard and sits across from Sarah.
JAMES Big day today, huh?
SARAH Yeah, I'm just so nervous. What if I mess up? What if they don't like my ideas?
JAMES Relax, you've worked hard on this. I'm sure you'll do great.
Sarah takes another sip of her coffee and suddenly feels a strange sensation in her mouth.
INT. SARAH'S MIND - CONTINUOUS
In Sarah's dream, she's standing in front of a mirror, examining her teeth. One by one, her teeth start to loosen and fall out.
INT. KITCHEN - CONTINUOUS
Sarah spits her coffee back into the cup, startled.
SARAH My teeth... They feel strange.
James, concerned, gets up and stands behind her, looking into her mouth.
JAMES They look fine to me. Maybe you're just stressed about the presentation.
Sarah fidgets in her seat, unconvinced.
INT. SARAH'S MIND - CONTINUOUS
Back in the dream, Sarah's teeth continue to fall out, crumbling into pieces. Her reflection morphs into a version of herself with no teeth, looking vulnerable and frightened.
INT. KITCHEN - CONTINUOUS
Sarah anxiously touches her teeth with her tongue.
SARAH It felt so real... I was losing my teeth. I think it's a sign that I'm not ready for this presentation.
JAMES It's just a dream, Sarah. They can be symbolic, sure, but it doesn't mean you're not capable of doing a great job today.
SARAH Maybe you're right... I just can't shake this feeling of insecurity.
James puts his hand on Sarah's shoulder, comforting her.
JAMES You're one of the most talented people I know. Just take a deep breath, believe in yourself, and show them what you've got.
Sarah takes a deep breath and nods, trying to regain her composure.
SARAH Thank you, James. I'll do my best.
Sarah and James share a supportive smile before she gets up to finish preparing for her presentation, determined to face her insecurities head-on.
